Opening a brand new location, Opals & Gems Australia had a tight timeline and budget to work with. North Coast Signs could work to establish their premium brand image to their 56-year-old family-owned business, without breaking the bank. Located at University Town Center Mall in San Diego, their new storefront was on the second floor right next to Nordstrom — and they wanted a look aligning with that quality and image.

We installed a new sign face over their existing light box, using 1/4″ thick clear acrylic. We custom cut each letter, wrapped the acrylic face in gloss black film that was die-cut to expose the store name across the center. The lighted sign is a dimensional sign face with the premium gloss black appearance. To attach the sign to the original light box, we used black anodized spun aluminum caps with a recessed post. Elegant and high-end. When illuminated at night, the letters sparkle just like the gems inside the store.

In addition, we retrofitted the exiting awning frames with new covers, with all new Sunbrella fabric with the company logo imprinted on the valance.
The storeowners were thrilled with the end results, and anxious to welcome new customers to their store. All within budget and right on time.
